Gloomy skies and 26,922 fans were out to see the Cougars host one of the toughest football teams in the WAC...and it took everything the Cats could muster to insure a victory over the Sun Devils...ASU scored first during the first quarter and lead all the way down to the final six minutes of the game, when Sheide connected with Tim Mahoney from the 9 yard line scoring what would prove to be the winning points of the game...Sheide completed 24 of 42 for 223 yards and 2 TDs...Mahoney added another TD on a Sheide pass accumulating 51 yards on 6 catches...the Sun Devils managed 185 yards against a tough Cougar defensive unit, while the Cats finished up with a healthy 363 total yards.
