12,672 were on hand to see BYU score an impressive victory over the Lobos of New Mexico...the Cougars dominated most of the game and scored first on a Sheide to Blanc 51 yard TD pass...Sheide tried his hand at rushing and score two TDs in the process during the second quarter...Mark Uselman added three field goals during the third and fourth quarters, all between the 30-40 yard range, then added another conversion after defensive lineman Frank Linford intercepted a Lobo pass...Sheide completed 15 of 29 passes for 244 yards adding to the 371 total yards for the Cougars compared with the 126 yards for the Lobos...the game was another fine effort for the defensive unit.
