Finishing out the regular season under clear skies and moderate temperatures brought out 30,978 fans to Cougar Stadium...the Cougars added another notch in the rivalry between BYU and Utah as they soundly beat the Utes again this season...the Cats scored first on a 100 yard kick-off return by John Betham on the opening play of the game...unfortunately for the Utes, that was indicative of things to come, as the Cats scored again in the first quarter on a Sheide to Mahoney pass from the 12...the Utes finally broke into the scoring column on a pass from the 22 during the second quarter, but no until after the Cougars had added another TD to the scoreboard, making teh half-time score 21-6...the Cats exploded during the third quarter for two more TDs...when the final 15 minutes of the game got underway, the Utes put together a couple of scoring drives for two TDs...final stats saw BYU with 298 total yards against the Utes 234...Blanc rushed for 122 yards and 2 TDs.
