Afternoon game on a cloudy, windy day with 17,458 looking on...their first WAC game became an offensive battle against two of the finest quarterbacks in the conference...Cougars scored first on a pass from Sheide to Mahoney from three yards out...Shaw recovered a fumble on the CSU 12 and on the next play, Charley Ah You converted the turnover into another BYU TD...CSU scored next on a record-breaking field goal of 59 yards...closing out the half, BYU's Mike Russell intercepted a CSU pass and returned it 68 yards for a TD placing BYU out in front 20-6...the second half provided most of the thrills of the afternoon as the Rams finally caught up with the Cats late in the fourt quarter to tie the ball game 33-33 in the last six seconds...PAT was wide...Driscoll completed 32 passes for 265 yards. Sheide was 11 of 14.
