Clear skies with good conditions greeted the Cowboys on their trip to Cougar country...attendance 29,555...the third conescutive afternoon game for the Cats saw Sheide completing 20 of 28 passes for 263 yards...BYU scored first on a Mark Uselman field goal, ending the first quarter...the Cowboys took over the lead on a pass from Castello to Howard, but the Cougars came back with another field goal and a TD to end the half 17-7...from then on it was an all Cougar dominated game...final score 38-7 provided the Cougars their first solid win of the season and made them 1-0-1 in conference play.
